Jamie committed his life to Jesus and was totally transformed from being a very depressed, hopeless and suicidal young man at the age of 18 when he attempted to take his life on a number of occasions while living in the Southwest of England.
His life totally changed and he was involved in a small seaside AOG church for a season. After 3 years Jamie moved to South Wales where he served as one of the assistant youth leaders in a youth group of 100+ which was a part of one of the leading, vibrant churches in Wales at the time.
After being planted for a number of years God spoke very clearly for Jamie to move to Seattle in the USA to attend Dominion Bible College where he graduated after 2 years with an Associate’s Degree. During this time, he met his beautiful wife to be, Tracy, who was a school teacher at the Christian school within their large 10,000-member church. After graduating Bible school Jamie and Tracy moved back to Wales to get married, and they served in a local church for a short season. During this time Jamie got his green card. They then moved back to Seattle to serve the church for the next 7 years.
In 2011 Jamie and Tracy both felt a strong call to move back to Wales, and they have been happily living in Wales since then. After working for the Welsh government for a year, Jamie joined the Vocate team with Rob Burns where he helped lead the internship along with other programmes. In September 2016 Jamie joined Rob full time with Missional Links Wales and is very excited to be part of the team helping to build the internal structure as well as working alongside the church partnerships and running the internships. It really is amazing looking back at all that God has done on the journey he has taken since he was 18, and after all of his years living in the USA as well as Wales, it really is such a ‘God fit’ for his role with MLW.
On this journey, Jamie and Tracy have also been blessed with their miracle children, son Jaden and daughter Chloe.
Jamie is passionate about loving God and loving people, his family, friends, the outdoors, hiking, cycling, football and rugby – especially Six Nations!
A verse that Jamie is passionate about is:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.
(Matthew 22:37-39)
